Lafayette Grande Banquet Facility

The Lafayette Grande was the perfect setting! We orginally planned our Venue Oct. 2010 but our wedding took place 4/13/12. They were amazing at working with us, from food tastings, to many showings to our family and friends. They hosted our engagement party as well! We had our ceremony and reception in the Crystal Ballroom, everything was perfect! The staff was great! We recieved so many compliments on awesome wedding and venue! Everything was perfect! Cant thank you all enough! Highly recommend!!!!

The room was beautiful. The food was delicious! All the of staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone was great. I would definitely recommend this venue.

I did love working with Greg, Rob and Ryan, however, their waitstaff on our night was less than desireable. We were told to leave when the bar shut down even though we have the hall for one more hour. I was also told I would be given the option to extend the bar the night of our wedding - that didn't happen. Perhaps the wait staff had something more important to get to after work....who knows. The food was good and it was easy to plan -but the help made the experience made super stressfull the night of...which is something no family wants. I was expecting that things would be 'taken' care of...not so much. I would recommend this venue but I would give a list of things to watch out for.

I loved working with Ryan and Greg at The Lafayette Grande. From start to finish the whole process was positive. They were always willing to hear concerns and work with you to find a solution. Their flexibility with things really made me feel like anything I wanted, was possible! We attended about 5 tasting nights they had, and always welcomed us back to try another dish. Their incentives were nice- A bottle of wine and 2 steaks! The building is an Old Masonic Temple, beautiful historical location. Such a gem! Over the 18 month engagement, I saw many improvements to the 100 year old building. They put a lot of time and money into repairing the old building and making things truly unique. I couldn't say more positive things about this place. I didn't give them a 5 because I think they need to hire more staff for cleaning. Everytime I went in, there was dirt, dust, old wedding stuff laying around. I kept saying, I hope it doesn't look like this on my day...

Holding our wedding reception at the Lafayette Grande was one of the best decisions we made in the wedding process. The staff was great and very attentive to our desires. The food was delicious and we received several comments from our guests about how incredible the venue looked. We would highly recommend the Lafayette Grande to anyone!

I love the Lafayette Grande! They were so helpful. I was planning my wedding from out of state. My husband is Military so the planning of the wedding was a bit tricky. I was only in town 2 times before the wedding. They met me there with my husband a few days before Christmas so he could see it before our wedding day. Then when I came back into town a little bit closer to the wedding they met me there no problem for a food tasting. We almost had a slight problem when my husband was set to deploy during our wedding. When I called them that said no worries they would do what they could to help us out if the date had to be moved. Anything I could have asked for from them they did plus more! Thanks so much Lafayette

The Lafayette Grande Banquet Facility is located in the Downtown Pontiac Entertainment District in a historical landmark. Built in 1923 as the Masonic Temple Lodge No. 21 by European artisans and tradesman to resemble fine Royal Palaces from centuries ago. Traveling Chef Catering bought this neglected building from the City of Pontiac in 1997. The intricate craftsmanship of fine details has been restored to the original grandeur. Truly, making the Lafayette Grande Banquet Facility a unique experience and unlike any other venue! Certainly a hidden gem in Oakland County, Michigan! Quality people! Quality...

The Lafayette Grand was an excellent place for a wedding/reception. We couldn't have asked for better service, a better venue, etc. They building is absolutely amazing. All of our guests commented on how nice the building was. The staff did a great job setting up our room. The food was EXCELLENT. They also hosted our Rehearsal Dinner and it was well worth the price of admission. The prices were the best we could find and we feel we got a steal.

Definitely not your average "cookie cutter" hall! The Lafayette Grande was the site of my 11/06/2010 wedding reception. I knew I had to book my party here when I took my then-fiance and my parents for a taste test last year. The food at the tasting was amazing, and my mother nearly cried when we visited the Crystal Ballroom on the 4th floor - an intimate and unique reception room styled as an elegant, 1930s-style dinner theater. The Kosch family and the staff at the Grande were great to work with, accommodating all of our requests and making sure our guests were well taken care of all night. Great value and top notch menu choices for both the rehearsal dinner and the reception - our family and friends raved about the food that was served. Thanks for helping us create a day to remember!

Beautifull location. It is family owned and operated our wedding and reception were beautifull we keep getting compliments on how unique a place it is. The food was also a step above regular wedding food.

The Lafayete Grande is great!! Definitely the biggest bang for your buck in the area. They are fantastic to work with, the food is delicious (our guests loved it), and extremely flexible and laid back! No need to worry about random fees here - they are up front and honest about each and every part of their service! And they care about YOU and YOUR DAY more than anything - you can't go wrong here!

unique, elegant, out-of-the-ordinary wedding!!! i can"t say enough about our experience at my daughters reception at the Lafayette Grande! from our first visit and meeting with ryan, we were impressed with the personal treatment and pro-fessionalism of every person involved! they were willing to customize all aspects of the reception to our wishes. ryan and greg were always available to promptly answer any question or phone call... the facitlity is an undiscovered gem in the metropolitan area... the food was exceptionally good--wedding buffets usually are not expected to be impressive, but this one was! many choices and unique dishes. all the "extras" for an "out of season" wedding were a great added value...even without those extras, the value was exceptional! the guests especially loved the late night snack-- an unexpected surprise!

All I can say about this place is WOW WOW WOW! If you are looking for a unique and beautiful venue, you have to check the Lafayette Grande out! It's family owned, and you couldn't ask for nicer people. Always easy to get ahold of, great prices, and great food! We got tons of compliments from our guests. We had a blast at our wedding reception and a lot of it was because of the Kosch family and their employees. Thank you guys for having such a wonderful place!

If I could select 10 stars, I would!! The best facility EVER!!! My wedding was flawless because of the wonderful staff at Lafayette Grande. My husband and I were married in their chapel on the 5th floor, then guests went to the mezzanine for cocktail hour, then everyone went to the 3rd floor to the Grande Ballroom for the reception. It was so wonderful to have everything right there! The food was fantastic (Salmon highly recommended), the drinks were well made, and the entire evening went extremely smooth, without any issue at all. And because the building is an old masonic temple and has so much detail and character, our wedding picts are absolutely amazing!! I can't say enough wonderful things about Lafayette and their staff!!!

Our reception was more than I dreamed it would be! The food was amazing! The owners made it a point to make sure we had everything we needed along the way. Any phone calls made were returned in only a few hours. With everything that we got at the reception, we STILL can in under budget! This was a wonderful facility to work with, many of our friends have already booked their receptions with them because of what we have said!

I cannot say enough about the Lafayette Grande! The building is absolutely beautiful and unique - you won't find another one like it. We used the Crystal Ballroom for our reception and every guest told us how amazing it was. The food was unreal as well - every single thing was wonderful and again, we received a million compliments on it (highly reccommend the chicken paprikash!). The most amazing thing about Lafayette was the staff though. Not just the event staff (awesome and very attentive!) but also the management. They were very flexible and very easy to work. It was clear that our needs were their top priority. I found them all to be very accomodating and responsive through the planning phase and even more so on the day of. Not only were we blown away by the building, the food and the people but the price was just out of this world - significantly lower than other places we considered and they didn't nail us with a bunch of hidden stuff. It was all clear and up front. You cannot go wrong with the Lafayette Grande!!!

I can't say enough great things about the Lafayette Grande. The owners are wonderful people who run an fantastic catering business and event venue. The building is so beautiful and unique and we fell in love with it almost instantly. The food is wonderful and there is a large menu to choose from. Greg Jr. was really great to work with. He was always organized, friendly, and available to us to answer any questions or concerns that we had. The big day went so smoothly and everything was exactly the way we had imagined it would be and I credit that to the staff at Lafayette Grande! We got a lot of compliments one finding such a unique and wonderful place to have our reception. I would recommend this venue to anyone!!

This catering company was fantastic! They do not use any frozen foods-just fresh and you can definitely taste it! The food was fantastic and extremely tasty! You can go in for a taste test and you will be impressed. It is also EXTREMELY affordable for a wedding dinner! The chef is also extremely friendly and willing to work with you. It was about 9-10 per person!
